Disk Substructures at High Angular Resolution Project (DSHARP)

This is the official Data Release webpage for the ALMA Cycle 4 Large Program Disk Substructures at High Angular Resolution Project (DSHARP). DSHARP is a deep, high resolution (35 mas, or 5 au) survey of the 240 GHz (1.25 mm) continuum and 12CO J=2-1 line emission from 20 nearby, bright, and large protoplanetary disks, designed to assess the prevalence, forms, locations, sizes, and amplitudes of small-scale substructures in the distributions of the disk material and how they might be related to the planet formation process.

The table of links below offers the community access to the post-pipeline calibration scripts for both the 240 GHz continuum and the 12CO J=2-1 line emission data, the final calibrated CASA measurement sets for those same data (for the CO, both with and without continuum subtraction), and a set of fiducial images for those same data. These files are also available from the ALMA archive associated with project code 2016.1.00484.L. A general description of the observations used, along with their calibration and imaging procedures, is included in the introductory article for the project (DSHARP I, see below). All users of these data are strongly advised to read that description first.

Users should keep in mind that these scripts may require modification depending on how the raw data are pipeline-processed. For example, some hard-coded indexing (e.g., SPWIDs) and some procedures (e.g., adjusting flux scales) will depend on how (and when) the pipeline calibration is conducted. For that reason, we advise those of you that want to re-do the calibration process entirely to treat the scripts as a guide and to doublecheck each step (i.e., do not just run them blindly, even though they are capable of allowing that). These scripts have only been tested for CASA v5.1.1-5. They require a custom suite of wrapper routines, reduction_utils.py, as well as the standard CASA analysis utilities.

The table below includes some additional data products, specifically the azimuthally-averaged radial intensity profiles for the continuum and the broadband SEDs (see Figure 1 in DSHARP I). Please see the README file associated with the radial profiles before using them.

Below the data table is a list of the initial DSHARP publications. If you use these data, we ask that you please cite DSHARP I as their source, as well as any of the other relevant associated articles for a given product (e.g., also cite DSHARP II if you use the radial profiles) or target (e.g., also cite DSHARP VIII if you are working with the AS 209 data).

Please address questions to the PI: Sean Andrews (sandrews [at] cfa.harvard.edu).
